Simply Music & Music Generation Wicklow - iPad Music & Technology Summer Camp, June 2015

Simply Music, on behalf of Music Generation Wicklow, delivered a 4-day iPad Music & Technology Summer Camp in St.Kilian’s Community School, Ballywaltrim, Bray, Co. Wicklow.

Using midi keyboards, electric and bass guitars, microphones and Apple's "GarageBand" software, the participants created a number of tracks. 

In addition, we looked at iMovie and there seemed to be a lot of interest in creating a few “horror movie” trailers!!!

Simply Music, supported by The Arts Council of Ireland, is currently working with Rathcoole and Collinstown Music Hubs on two separate 10-week iPad Music Composition Workshops.

These projects are supported by Music Generation South Dublin.

We are currently just over half way through and have produced some fantastic results to date.

Simply Music's "iClass Sounds" - songwriting, composition and performance workshops combine live performance and technology using guitars, keyboards, vocals and multiple iPad's with GarageBand music software.

We bring the technology & the musicians to you. Workshops are facilitated by one/two professional musicians who arrive with our JamHub ‘silent rehearsal studios’ so you don’t have to worry about the workshop interfering with other workshops/classes in your premises/school.

What students get from our workshops:

• Understanding of new and emerging music technology software
• Engagement with professional musicians
• Participation in an engaging composition-based workshop
• Participation and collective music-making
• Understanding technologies associated with music recording and production
• Social engagement and participative learning through music
• Fun and enjoyment
